Belles Extend Win Streak to Eight

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Saint Mary's College Tennis defeated the University of Olivet, 7-0, on Saturday to extend their win streak to eight matches. The Belles improve to 12-3 (3-1 MIAA) while the Comets fall to 5-11 (0-5 MIAA)

Doubles

Saint Mary's would begin their hot day by taking all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Senior Alayna Campbell (Granger, IN) and junior Emma Kealy (Hudson, OH) would win at number one, 6-1, while junior Hannah Gerner (Crown Point, IN) and freshman Shannon Dudy (Glenview, IL) would take the win at number two, 6-1. Sophomore Genevieve Brawner (Jackson, MI) and freshman Odessa Norton (Carmel, IN) would take a win at number three, 6-0.

Singles

The Belles would continue to dominate as they would take all six singles matches on the afternoon. Campbell would win at number one, 6-0 6-1, while Kealy would take the win at number two, 6-1 6-0. Sophomore Anna Gardner (Houston, TX) would take care of her opponent at number three, 6-3 6-0, while freshman Lanie Brant (Stevensville, MI) would handle her opponent easily at number four, 6-0 6-1. Sophomore Sophia Pischalko (Granger, IN) would get her first win of the day at the number five singles match, 6-0 6-1, while freshman Rachael Borg (Oconomowoc, WI) would get her first win of the spring, 6-1 6-2, at six.

Saint Mary's will stay on the road as they travel to take on Alma College tomorrow afternoon in Alma, MI. The Belles then return home on April 12 to host Trine University for Senior Day.
