OBERLIN, Ohio - The Saint Mary's cross country team placed nineteenth in a talent-laden Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday.

 

No. 10 nationally-ranked Oberlin claimed the team title with a score of 104. Bates was second (112) while No. 21 John Carroll placed third (142) with a three-point edge over fourth-place Washington and Lee (145). The Belles had a team score of 566 to finish ahead of Albion by 18 points.

 

Personal record times abounded for Saint Mary's at the speedy race in Ohio. Julia O'Grady led the Belles with a 22:47.7 to shatter her 6k PR by a minute while finishing 44th overall. Katie Glenn was the next Belle across the finish line as the senior posted a new 6k PR of her own with a 23:15.6 while finishing 88th and earning 86 points toward the team score.

 

Addie Bobosky ran a 24:10.2 for a nine-second improvement upon her 6k time to take 151st overall and earn 136 points. Bridget Kenney completed the course in 24:22.6 as she cut over 50 seconds off of her 6k time while placing 168th and picking up 149 points. Angela Bannan rounded out the team score as she ran a 24:27.9, a new PR, and 172nd place while garnering 151 points.

 

Shanan Hamilton was just a few seconds behind Bannan with a 24:33.6 and 183rd place overall and a 25-second improvement upon her 6k personal record time. Riley Swope ran a 24:38.0 and edged out a runner from Loras for 187th and a new PR by 44 seconds. Julia Bobosky posted a 25:00.3 for 207th and a new 6k PR by more than 45 seconds. Alexa Zeese crossed the finish line in 25:07.2 and was 213th while also earning a new PR time of nearly a minute.

 

Several members of the team also competed in the open women's race later in the day. Brigid Conmy led the way for the Belles in the second race of the event with a 24:52.6 and a new PR by more than 30 seconds while finishing 51st. Emily Blank notched a 26:08.4 and was 102nd. Maura Honan ran a 26:22.9 and was 109th. Mikayla Trumbla posted a 26:51.0 for 130th and a new 6k PR by more than 1:30. Julia Crowley ran a 27:08.8 and was 141st for the Belles while shaving almost a minute off of her 6k personal record time.

 

The next race for the Belles will be the MIAA Championship on Saturday, November 2 at Trine University.
